Wike has been cautioned by the APC Forum against taking any measures that may hurt the party or the area

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has been warned by the All Progressive Congress (APC)-affiliated North Central APC Forum against taking any acts or making any movements that would be detrimental to the party or the North Central region.

After an urgent meeting to evaluate the election tribunal rulings and the progress of the APC, Forum Chairman Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga made this public in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.

He stressed the importance of everyone pitching in to secure the party’s success in any level of court.

‘Reports reaching us imply that some appointive office holders like Wike are still playing double games, as he is part of the APC by appointment, and he still remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),’ he said.

We have learned that he continues to support the PDP in their numerous endeavors and actions, most notably in the post-election cases that have been brought before the courts.

It’s time for Wike to come clean about which party he truly supports; otherwise, the APC would be quick to take legal action against him and other measures if his activities run counter to their interests.

He said that Wike, “as someone who is holding an appointive position of the APC, a Lawyer by profession, and someone reputed to doggedly fight political-legal battles right from Rivers State,” should “come out strong” and “be seen to be supporting and strategizing for victory” for APC candidates in the courts, at least in the North-Central Region, under which the FCT falls.

It has been suggested by some that Wike use his position as FCT Minister to plot his run for president in 2027, but Zazzaga has warned him against doing so.

He insisted that the group would keep an eye out to make sure he wasn’t using any shady tactics to advance their own agenda before he was fully devoted to Nigeria, the APC, and President Bola Tinubu.

The Chairman cautioned Wike against taking any drastic measures in the FCT, such as demolishing buildings or revoking land rights, because these actions would have a disproportionately bad impact on the North Central region.

He stated that the region has enough problems, particularly those of a security nature, and that more complications should be avoided.

He urged every member and leader of the APC to back any candidate who takes legal action after the election.

He also called on all Nigerians to back Tinubu, George Akume (the Secretary to the Government of the Federation), and the other ministers and appointees so that they can do a good job for the country and reap the benefits of democracy.
