Akintayo, Dr. Adaralewa Micheal, the recently appointed commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State, has proclaimed war on indiscipline in the state.
Additionally, Akintayo issued a warning that officers will face consequences in line with current regulations if they bring disgrace upon the corps.
This was discussed during Friday’s inaugural meeting of the Osun NSCDC Commandant with senior officers, area commanders, and divisional officers from throughout the State Command.
The Command spokesperson, Adeleke Kehinde, said that Akintayo firmly believed that unethical behavior would never be tolerated, regardless of the circumstances.
The need of upholding human rights and the rule of law was also emphasized by him.
Insubordination toward one’s superiors or the broader public is something I simply can not tolerate.
“The agenda of repositioning the corps to actualise its mandates must be embraced,” said Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
Police personnel, he said, should not intimidate the people with their uniforms or weapons.
No matter how outrageous the situation, members of the Corps must always act with dignity and respect for the basic human rights of the Nigerian people.
The head of the Osun NSCDC admonished the staff to be diligent and step up their supervision responsibilities after charging them with having a tight grip on their various jurisdictions.
But he promised that he would constantly lead them well so that they could do their jobs well.
He pleaded with the public to help security authorities prevent crimes by providing them with timely information.
