In Imo State, unknown gunmen are said to have slain a member of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mr Emmanuel Igwe.
The event happened on Sunday in the Ivo Local Government Area axis of the state,
According to reports, Mr. Emmanuel, an assistant electoral officer in Afikpo North LGA, was ambushed by criminal elements on his way back to Imo from a trip to Abia State.
According to Vanguard, the deceased’s wife was also abducted by armed men and taken to an unknown location.
SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the state Police Public Relations Officer, verified the terrible incidence.
“We’ve launched a manhunt for the attackers.” We’re hopeful they’ll be arrested. “The victim was shot through his car’s windshield.”
