Two accused auto thieves have been detained by the Delta State Police Command. They are known to target drivers in Warri and the surrounding areas.
Phillip Ekugbe and Onome Erikefe, the accused, are both from the community of Ekpan in the Uvwie Local Government Area’s Effurun.
74 car tires, 16 vehicle engines, 8 gearboxes, 15 motor batteries, and 2 motorcycle engines were also found on the suspects.
Seven possibly stolen automobiles were also found on the accused, according to the police.
Four Toyota Corollas (with license plates AJ 638 EFR, DU 60 LSR, WWR 799 AE, and KSF 758 DC), a Toyota Carina (WW 748 SL), and an unregistered Nissan automobile are among the vehicles seized from the suspects.
The event was confirmed by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, who stated: “Suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”
