An order by U.S. District Judge Nancy Maldonado that Chicago State University, CSU, turn up specific academic documents belonging to Nigeria’s current President Bola Tinubu has been stayed.
Two days earlier, Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Gilbert issued a deadline of Thursday night for the CSU to turn over the necessary paperwork.
However, Judge Maldonado reportedly told counsel on both sides during an emergency hearing on Thursday to submit additional arguments by the following Thursday.
The Nigerian president’s legal team claimed that Gilbert’s ruling should be reviewed by a lower court.
Maldonado agreed to hear their case and promised a decision as soon as feasible.
This weekend, I will be really busy.

In an Emergency Motion, Tinubu asked the Chicago Court to postpone the release of his transcripts until at least Monday, September 25th, as reported by DAILY POST.
CSU was given two days to comply with the Chicago Court’s decision that any records pertaining to Tinubu’s time as a student be turned over to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku is the one claiming that Tinubu’s degree from Chicago State University is a forgery.
He then submitted an application in which he requested evidence that the Nigerian leader was ineligible to run for president at the time in question.
