Tinubu is named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2023.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s President-elect, has been named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2023.

Tinubu, Joe Biden, and 18 other names appear on the annual list of influential individuals, which typically includes artists, icons, pioneers, leaders, titans, and innovators.

The American news magazine described the president-elect as a longtime political power broker who helped Nigeria restore democracy in 1999 after fighting military rule in a short profile published on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Time Magazine praised Tinubu’s bravery in winning an election with three strong contenders for the first time in Nigeria’s 23-year democracy.

Other names on the list includedKing of the United Kingdom, King Charles III; US President Joe Biden; US Senator Mitch McConnell; Argentine footballer, Lionel Messi and Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, amongst others.
