There Is A Football God, Says Brighton Manager De Zerbi After Beating Manchester United

Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi said “there is a god of football” after his team won a late penalty shootout against Manchester United 11 days earlier.
Alexis MacAllister’s 99th-minute penalty, awarded for Luke Shaw’s handball, came after United won 7-6 on penalties against Albion at Wembley.

“I believe we played better than United in both games.” “The final outcome was unjust,” De Zerbi told Sky Sports.

“I believe there is a football god.”

“We deserved to win the semi-final but lost on penalties,” he added, “but today we won with a penalty.”

“We dominated the game and played a fantastic game.” “My players deserved to win,” De Zerbi added.

“We have six more games to play, six very difficult games.” We have to win our first tough game against Everton on Monday. We will lose these three points if we do not win against them.”
