The police prevent a street vendor from diving into the Lagos Lagoon.

On Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad stopped a 25-year-old street vendor from diving into the lagoon.
On Tuesday, the squad announced this on its Twitter account.

The tweet said, in part:

Around 8:00 a.m., the hawker Rabiu Nafiu was stopped from jumping into the lagoon.

“Nafiu warned the RRS officers not to hold him back from jumping when he saw them approaching. Before they could get him off the edge of the bridge, the officers were able to calm him down.

According to CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, the Commander of RRS, “He has been transferred to RRS HQ.”
