The Ilupeju Industrial Fire Outbreak is Being Fought by LASTMA and Others

Saturday morning saw emergency personnel battling an industrial fire, including those from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

On Saturday in Lagos, LASTMA’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Mr. Taofiq Adebayo, made the announcement.

Mega Plastics Company, located at No. 4, Ilupeju Bypass, next to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Ilupeju, was the site of the industrial fire, he said.

Mr. Ayo Olaosebikan (Falcon), LASTMA’s Traffic Officer for Zone 21, has stated that the LASTMA rescue crew arrived at the location of the industrial fire breakout at approximately 6:30 a.m., far before LASTMA contacted any other emergency responders.

We swiftly notified other emergency responders, including the Lagos State Fire, Rescue Services and the Nigerian Police, upon our arrival at the scene of the industrial fire.

It took some time to determine what started the factory fire. His words were reported by NAN.

An initial inspection, as observed by Olaosebikan, showed that the storage and factory section of the petrochemical corporation was severely damaged by the fire.

The LASTMA Response Unit, along with state and local fire departments, and police are on the scene, he said.
According to Olaosebikan, nobody was hurt and nobody died.
