President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s attendance at the 78th United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, has been highlighted by the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
The 78th United Nations General Assembly is taking place this week in New York, and SAREWA HAUSA reports that Tinubu left Nigeria on Sunday to attend.
The Nigerian president had a great time, said Mohammed Idris, minister of information and national orientation.
The President is rumored to have begun opening up the Nigerian economy during his time at the UNGA.
The President has already traveled to India for this reason, with a detour in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the minister, Tinubu was the first Nigerian representative at the event and brought a powerful message to let the world know that Nigeria is ready to do business with them.
He said that he had spoken with both Ban Ki-moon and Amina Muhammad, the United Nations’ Deputy Secretary General. The minister told the press on Thursday that he had “strong discussions” with foreign leaders.
As part of a renewed effort to encourage Nigeria’s investment, the President of ExxonMobil’s upstream division has committed 40,000 additional barrels of oil each day.
“He has met with the business community, with people in the ICT tech community and the oil industry, and with so many others. He has also met with African leaders and other world leaders.”
Already, investors are making public commitments to visit Nigeria and invest vast sums in the country and the world at large.
“His constant message is that no one should feel sorry for Nigeria or Africa.
The relationship between Nigeria and the rest of the world should be one of mutual respect and an even playing field.
The days of viewing Nigeria and the rest of Africa as a place where its inhabitants deserve our pity are over. We have ordered the field to be cleared. Come on, then, and challenge each other. We have the tools necessary for people in Nigeria and across Africa to contribute to the world’s progress.
Nigeria is eager to join the competition and has been told, “Look, we open it up, we are there for you; don’t pity us; make the level playing field.
It would appear that the international community is once again welcome Nigeria as a full member. “World leaders are ready to rally around Nigeria to ensure that Nigeria likewise assumes its rightful place.
There is a lot going on, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria is living up to the country’s reputation as a pioneer.
To paraphrase: “Nigeria is becoming a very important nation once again, is taking its rightful place, and is not just for Nigeria, but for the rest of Africa, open up the space we are there, we participate and compete, and Nigeria and Africa will be the best for it.”
