The Adamawa State Executive Council (SEC) authorized plans for a new flyover to be built in and around Mubi Roundabout in Yola, the state capital, on Friday

During the first term of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Yola saw the construction of two more flyovers in 2021 and 2022.

The state government anticipates spending N9.2 billion on the new flyover.

Construction of a new 20.8 km super highway beginning at Welcome-to-Yola and ending at Army Barracks Junction was approved at a N21.8 billion price tag during the SEC meeting presided over by Fintiri on Friday.

Shortly after the meeting in Government House, Yola, Mrs. Neido Geoffrey Kofulto, the Commissioner of Information and Strategy for Adamawa State, told newsmen that the flyover and the highway had time periods of 18 and 30 months, respectively.

She stated that once the projects are finished, they will help ease traffic and boost the state’s economy.

Kofulto also revealed that a warehouse was cleared for building in Government House Yola to stop random looting of stored goods by criminals.

She revealed that Medugu Commercial and Construction Company was given N291 million to build a storage facility with a capacity of 7,800 metric tons for rice and other crops.
