Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has revealed that Harry Maguire has the final say on whether or not he will return to Old Trafford for the upcoming season.
Maguire was demoted from the starting lineup last year, and now Bruno Fernandes has been named captain in front of the upcoming season.
Spurs are also interested in the England defender after West Ham’s £20 million approach was turned down last week.
But Ten Hag has stated that Maguire is the one who must decide if he wants to challenge for his position or not.
Ten Hag said, “Exactly,” when asked if Maguire should stay or leave.
He went on to say that at Man United, players have to “fight for their position” by bringing their skills to the table and demonstrating why they are the most valuable to the squad.
