In a statement, AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore asked Governor Seyi Makinde and security authorities to identify the illegal miners behind the tragic explosion in Ibadan, Oyo State, and bring them to justice.
An explosion rocked Dejo Oyelese Street in the city’s Bodija district about 7:00 pm on Tuesday. According to SAREWAHAUSA, Makinde blamed illicit miners for the incident.
According to the governor, two people have died and seventy-seven have been injured.
Sowore sent a statement on Wednesday via his official X account in response to the news, writing, “Again, who is that miner? ” Could you tell me who this miner is in Oyo State and what they’re mining? Who knows? Maybe it’s uranium, cobalt, gold, or silver. The miner’s name should be revealed as soon as possible with a release!
Mines and explosives need a certain protocol, and explosives like dynamite almost never detonate without a trigger. It needs to be ignited either mechanically or by hand. Did someone set up explosives in the building? Please explain whether that is the case.
Is the fact that there is a mine in the Agodi neighborhood known to the governor of Oyo State? Is the governor taking note, or is the state actually blasting rock in a neighborhood?
The usage of explosives in Nigeria is a responsibility that falls on the DSS. Can you tell me their official stance on the matter? Citizens should be provided with a preliminary report on this problem by the DSS without delay.
