Skunk and Indian Hemp are intercepted by the NDLEA.

Ogun National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted various illicit drugs in Lagos and Ogun State, including Skunk and Indian hemp.

Mr Femi Babafemi, its spokesman, stated on Sunday in Abuja that NDLEA operatives intercepted a Toyota Sienna vehicle driven by one Mukaila Idowu transporting 88.3kg skunk at Otedola Bridge, Ikeja area of Lagos.

He went on to say that another suspect, Joseph Friday, was apprehended on Saturday in Iyana Ira, Lagos, with 58.7kg of Indian hemp hidden inside his Toyota Camry.

Also on May 3, NDLEA agents raided a mini factory in Safari Onikolobo, Abeokuta, where a suspect, Bakare Taofeek, was producing “skucchies.”

“Among the items recovered from him were four kilograms of black currant drink (Zobo) mixed with Indian hemp.” 255 litres of “skucchies” and 1,880 tramadol tablets.

He listed three deep freezers, 735 grams of Indian hemp, two 2 gas cylinders, and two cooking pots.

NDLEA officers attached to courier companies also intercepted 1.54 kilograms of compressed brown methamphetamine packaged as soap bars bound for Australia.

The Tuesday seizure at a Lagos courier house was a follow-up operation to an earlier interception of 3.389kg of the same substance on February 23.

Babafemi added that a suspected drug courier, Paul Adetigbe, who delivered the previous parcel, was eventually arrested with the latest consignment.
