Shettima says Nigeria would be productive once again

Nigerians, especially those in Russia, have been reassured by Vice President Kashim Shettima that life in their country will improve under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.

According to a statement released by his Director of Information, Mr. Olusola Abiola, the Vice President made the promise to the Nigerian community in Russia on Friday night in St. Petersburg.

In response to community members’ worries, Shettima promised that Nigeria’s fortunes would turn around quickly over the following nine to twelve months. The reason I can say this with complete conviction is that I have faith in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ability and dedication.

The Vice President addressed the ongoing efforts of the administration to reposition the economy, saying, “We are here for the Africa-Russia Summit, but we are also here essentially to pursue the completion of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex and rebirth of the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON).

A major shift is coming. A thriving steel sector is essential for every country to experience industrialization. I assure you that President Obama will make Ajaokuta a reality.

“You may rest assured that Ajaokuta is one of the legacies that President Tinubu would leave to his fellow Nigerians. My leader, my employer, and my principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is totally dedicated to Ajaokuta and ALSCON, therefore I’ll be returning there soon.

We’ve already started talking, and we’ll make sure these two businesses take off; we can’t let the idea die.
The Vice President went on to say that the Tinubu administration would use Nigeria’s immense human and material resources to set the country on a road of sustainable development and expansion, further bolstering optimism about the country’s future.

We have the space and the young, energetic populace, he said; here is the land of opportunity.

There will be a global talent shortage of 65 million by 2035, with deficits of 6 million or more in the United States, Russia, and Brazil respectively. And young, thriving Nigeria is expected to step up to the plate.

Thus, there are several openings in the online world. Our goal is to provide digital skills training to one million people in Nigeria.

The Vice President said he had faith in President Tinubu’s ability to transform Nigeria because “the President passionately believes in the Nigeria project,” and because his rise to power “did not happen by chance.”

As Lagos State Governor, President Tinubu displayed “the propensity to inspire development across all sectors,” as Senator Shettima put it, and the President “has also shown the zeal, passion, and commitment to transform Nigeria.”

To quote him: “the maturity exhibited by Nigerians living in Russia is an understatement, and I must confess that I am impressed by the Ambassador’s impressive achievements.” He went on to praise the leaders and citizens of the Nigerian community in Russia for their behavior.

In separate statements, members of the Nigerian community praised the Tinubu administration’s efforts to enhance relations with the Russian government.

Ambassador Shehu Abdullahi of Nigeria, Permanent Secretary Gabriel Aduda of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Mary Ogbe of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, President Maurice Okoli of the Nigerian Community in Russia, and Chairman Sampson Uwem of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization in Russia were all present at the forum.

On the same day, the Vice President was in St. Petersburg for the second annual “I imagine Nigeria” arts exhibition hosted by the Nigerian Embassy, which featured the work of emerging Russian artists.

The Vice President attended the event to view the artworks on display and to award prizes to young Russian artists. In a brief speech, he highlighted the significance of cultural diplomacy and its potential to strengthen ties between Nigeria and Russia.
