Akpabio made the revelation during a weekend press conference with the Senate Press Corps in Abuja.
Eyiboh was praised as “an astute politician, experienced media manager, public affairs expert, and communications guru” by the Senate President.
Eyiboh was a two-term member of the House of Representatives, serving from 2007 to 2011, and was re-elected in 2011.
Between 2007 to 2011, he served as spokesman and head of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs under the speakership of Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole.
Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal designated him Chairman of the House Committee on Civil Society Organizations and Donor Agencies in 2011.
Eyiboh is the immediate past Chairman, Governing Board of the Cross River Basins Development Authority, as well as a former Executive Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission; former Director, Akwa Palm Industries Ltd; former Speaker, WAIFEM forum for Regional Parliamentarians, Accra; and former Corporate Affairs Consultant, Socfinco Indufina of Brussel.
The new Special Adviser is also the Dean of the Faculty Board of the Initiatives, a caucus of past and sitting members of the National Assembly that sets the agenda.
