Read about President Tinubu’s meeting with Dangote and Bill Gates.

President Bola Tinubu has committed to prioritize Nigerians’ health and safety, stressing that for any country to prosper, the health of its people, especially the workers, is vital.
On Monday, the President hosted Mr Bill Gates, co-founder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, in the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

While applauding Bill Gates’ tenacity and commitment to working for humanity, he praised the relationship with the Aliko Dangote Foundation.

The President stated that his administration would do everything possible to ensure the success of their work in Nigeria and Africa, notably in eradicating polio, measles, malaria, and other diseases from the continent.

He did, however, caution about budgetary restrictions and other funding concerns.

The President lauded Bill Gates’ work to combat climate change as well as eradicate polio and malaria in Africa.

He urged the benefactor that the West needs to hear from him more about the predicament of poor countries, stating, “You have all it takes to help developing nations more.”

In his remarks to the media following the visit, Dangote congratulated President Tinubu on his election and smooth assumption of office.

He stated that the purpose of his visit to the residence was to brief the President on the operations of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Aliko Dangote Foundation, emphasizing their commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s health sector.

He indicated the foundations’ willingness to work with the government to further its goals.

He took advantage of the occasion to thank the President for eliminating the fuel subsidy, expressing confidence that more state funding will be devoted to education, health, infrastructure, and other key areas of the economy.
