Abdulafeez Shorinmade, a 20-year-old apprentice in Iwo, has been detained for the murder of Rofiyat Rasaki, according to the Osun Police.
The suspect continued his murderous spree after killing Rofiyat by stabbing 18-year-old Sawiyu Nasrup in the chin. The Daily Post claims
In a statement made public by Yemisi Opalola, the spokeswoman for the Osun Police Command, Shorinmade was said to have killed Rofiyat on October 12, 2022, at at 9:30 p.m. in the Kajola neighborhood of Iwo.
The statement further disclosed that Shorinmade allegedly used a pair of scissors to stab Rofiyat in the neck while high on heavy narcotics.
The statement claims that the suspect made an attempt to leave the crime site following the act.
“On October 12, 2022, at around 9:30 p.m. in the Kajola Area, Iwo, one Abdulafeez Shorinmade “M” of Feesu, Iwo suspected of being under the influence of drugs, armed himself with a pair of scissors and stabbed one Rofiyat Rasaki “F” 20 years old in the neck, causing her to bleed to death. Suspect eluded capture.
“When he arrived at the Soba facility, he similarly stabbed another female, Sawiyu Nasrup, age 18 in her chin.”
Opalola revealed that the DPO and his team hurriedly sped to both murder places, where the culprit was apprehended following a protracted pursuit.
While the body of Rofiyat was brought to the General Hospital, Iwo for certification and preservation for autopsy, the injured victims, Sawiyu, were taken there immediately for medical assistance.
Eyewitnesses claimed that when the young woman was leaving her place of employment, Abdulafeez was already concealed in a nook where she would pass.
