PDP leader Mike Onolememen announces his resignation

Mike Oziegbe Onolememen resigned as a minister of works and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The party leader’s resignation letter was addressed to Tony Azerbaijan, the state party chairman in Edo.

He wrote that he was withdrawing his membership from the party.

Onolememen has been a part of the major opposition party since its inception in 1998, when he joined as a founding member.

He claims that Godwin Obaseki, who joined the party a few years ago, now treats it as his personal property.

By this letter I am formally informing you and all other members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that I am terminating my membership in the party with immediate effect.

He claimed that the conclusion was arrived at after extensive deliberation in light of the party’s protracted battle.

I’d want to take this time to express my gratitude to everyone who has helped me along the way since I joined the party in 1998.
