Pastor Leke Adeboye Provides Free Food and Fuel to His Congregation

Leke Adeboye, the senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, LSC, at The Bridge, Ikeja, Lagos, showed generosity to his congregation on Sunday by filling up their gas tanks.

This act of kindness was in reaction to the recent increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (also known as gasoline) and was intended to help the congregation out during these difficult times. The pastor’s efforts to comfort the church with the recent spike in gas prices were highlighted in a statement issued on Tuesday.

It said in the release:

“On Sunday, many attendees of LSC The Bridge, one of the RCCG’s thriving youth churches led by Pastor Leke Adeboye, had a quite out-of-the-ordinary worship service.

Pastor Leke and the head of Christian Social Responsibility for the RCCG Youth Province 1 in Lagos State came up with a fantastic concept to help church members through the recent fuel price spike and cost of living issue that has hit many Nigerians hard.

“More than a thousand liters of gas were donated to help anyone who drove to church on Sunday.”
It was also framed as a method to give young people and taxi drivers who relied on their vehicles for work and living expenses more agency.

Members who drove their cars to church were reportedly guided to a filling station by the pastor after he had finished refueling their spirits with God’s word.

They were all in cars, and their gas or fuel tanks were full. In addition, healthy food was provided to nearly 500 people.

Furthermore, “it was an essential Christian social responsibility move needed for such a time as this,” the statement said.

When it was all over, the pastor had a few words to say to the crowd: “You cannot use God’s fuel to do illegal things, use the fuel wisely.”
