Former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has been nominated for All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman by the APC Forum of Ward Chairmen.
The Director General of the Forum, Hon. Yakubu Ishaya, reportedly announced the endorsement at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday.
Ishaya disclosed that the group overwhelmingly supported Ganduje because he has all the characteristics necessary to serve as APC National Chairman.
However, Ishaya praised Ganduje, saying that he is a man of conscience and the driving force behind much of the infrastructure growth in Kano State.
Politics Nigeria reports that the chairmen feel Ganduje is the finest party man to come into the position of APC National Chairman because he is a party man who contributed greatly to the success of President Bola Tinubu, believes in the ideology of Mr. President, and remains the best party man.
If the party wants to make progress as a ruling party and a sitting administration, as Hon. Ishaya pointed out, it should not be at odds with President Tinubu.
The Director General argued that, with the government formation process in full swing, now is not the time to be without a National Chairman for the APC.
The Progressives Governors’ Forum was commended for its work in helping to reposition the APC through its endorsement of Ganduje as the party’s next national chairman.
The conference also urged President Tinubu to back Abdullahi Ganduje for the position of National Chairman of the party so that the country can move forward into a brighter future.
We, the Party’s local Chairmen, have voted unanimously to support Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, for the position of APC National Chairman.
Over the years, Ganduje has proven his worth. “He rose from the ranks of civil servant to chairman of the local government to governor of Kano State,” Hon. Ishaya remarked.
It’s a fresh start, and the party needs to get it right or we could end up losing our grip on power. To help ensure a brighter future for our party, we are grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the global leader of the APC, and we urge him to fully support Abdullahi Ganduje for the position of National Chairman.
