Victor Osimhen of the Super Eagles has been awarded Serie A’s top striker for the 2022/23 League season, ahead of Napoli’s final match of the season.
The statement was made on the official Twitter account of Italy’s top flight. Osimhen, who led Napoli to their first Serie A title since the 1989/1990 season, was named the league’s best striker, beating out Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao.
On Friday, June 2, Osimhen’s Georgian colleague Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was voted Serie A Player of the Season.
With 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 games, the Georgia international enjoyed a great season and helped Napoli win their first Scudetto in 33 years.
The 22-year-old follows last season’s winner Rafael Leao of AC Milan, who came from Dinamo Batumi before the season.
