On the occasion of the nation’s birthday, Governor Sani has made an appeal for unity

The governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has urged other prominent Nigerians to come to a common understanding of the future they envision for their country.

In his speech to the people of Kaduna State on the 63rd anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, he reflected on the high hopes of the people at independence in 1960, noting that the country’s forefathers had dreamed of creating the world’s preeminent black nation.

He lamented that despite 63 years of independence, Nigerians had failed to forge a really Nigerian ethos, using ethnic and religious divides to advance personal or collective goals.

He continued his lament by saying, “We are still struggling to address developmental challenges, especially in the areas of infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and security.” Politicians have legitimate concerns about the rising poverty rate.

The Governor has stated that the country should reunite and support their security agencies in the fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, and other criminal activities in order to address the problems of internal security.

Kaduna State is a priority for the administration, and he promised that they will do everything in their power to make the state safe again and restore faith in its people.

To ensure that the poor, disadvantaged, and underserved in rural areas receive aid from state and federal governments’ social intervention programs, he has formed the Financial Inclusion and Literacy Committee, he added.

Our administration places a premium on rural revitalization. Our goal is to stimulate rural economies through extensive infrastructure improvement. It is important to us that every resident of the state feels the hand of government. We won’t abandon any region of the state.

We seek to restore Kaduna State to its historic role as a crossroads for Nigeria’s many ethnic groups. To realize our vision for the Kaduna State, we need the help and participation of all of our citizens,” he said.
