Omokri says Emefiele should not be made a scapegoat for Buhari’s mistakes.

Reno Omokri, a former presidential assistant, has reacted to the arrest of Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Omokri stated that Tinubu should allow Emefiele to defend himself against any allegations leveled against him.
Reno further argued that it is unjust to handcuff the former CBN governor when Buhari and Nasir El Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna, are free men.
“I am not saying Emefiele is above arrest,” he wrote. However, accusing him of supporting the Unknown Gunmen is implausible. This is about the Naira redesign strategy, and Emefiele is being penalized since the policy is perceived to be anti-President Bola Tinubu.
“I saw the video, and that’s why he was handcuffed.” The proposal to treat Emefiele like Sambo Dasuki and hold him in custody while derogatory information about him is leaked to the media is anti-democratic.
He should be treated with dignity and permitted to communicate with his lawyers and family.
“He must not be made a scapegoat for Buhari’s sins because he is a South-South Igbo-speaking minority.” Nigerians should not let the agony of the Naira redesign strategy poison their minds against Emefiele. While Buhari relaxes in Daura, Emefiele is handcuffed, and El-Rufai is taken to the Villa.
“The cabal wined and dined Emefiele while there was food on his plate.” Now that the food has been consumed, the plate appears to be filthy, whereas those who ate off it are enjoying retirement in Daura and Niger Republic. “Where has the justice gone?”
