Abiodun Oladapo, 43, was arrested by Ogun State Police Command for allegedly impregnating his 19-year-old daughter.
SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the State Police Public Relations Officer, made the announcement in a statement on Saturday.
According to Oyeyemi, the suspect was apprehended after a complaint was filed at Mowe Divisional Headquarters by one Oluwatoyin Idowu, who claimed that her son, Michael Idowu, was wrongfully accused of impregnating the victim.
“Upon investigation, the victim, who is five months pregnant, confessed to police that her father had been sexually abusing her since February 2022, with threats to kill her if she told anyone,” he said.

Her father asked her to lie against Michael Idowu for being responsible for her pregnancy when she became pregnant.
“Following her confession, the DPO, Mowe Division, SP Folake Afeniforo, directed detectives to go after the randy father, who was later apprehended.”

“A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, who had been estranged from the victim’s mother for a long time, took custody of the girl when her mother remarried, and they have been living together since then.”
Oyeyemi, on the other hand, stated that the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution by the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba.
Mba assured the public that the case would be investigated.
The suspect was thoroughly investigated and made to face the consequences of his actions.
