Festus Keyamo, spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign and Minister of State for Labor and Employment, has described Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, and his supporters as “mentally weak.”
Obi’s supporters, dubbed “Obidients,” have been trending for the past week after Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka chastised them for insulting people with opposing political views.
Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), commented on this in a Twitter post:
“It is clear that the so-called Obedients are MENTALLY WEAK; they threw all kinds of garbage at other candidates, including ours, during the campaigns, and we took it all in stride and responded to all such jabs.”
They created memes, skits, and caricatures based on the images.

But now that the spotlight has been turned on them and their ‘hero,’ they have clearly cracked, with many losing their heads. Just one audio clip sent them into a tailspin, with close aides confirming and denying the audio like a ragtag army.
And, with the recent barrage of criticism from unexpected quarters, they’ve completely lost it. They are cursing and swearing at every perceived foe and sounding despondent. It demonstrates a poor mental state. But I have good news for them: it is time for the rational, patriotic citizens to speak up.
