Nimet predicts a three-day cloud of dust beginning on Thursday

There will be a dust haze across the country from Thursday through Saturday, according to NiMet, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency.

According to the weather forecast provided by NiMet in Abuja on Wednesday, the northern area, North Central states, and the inland regions can expect visibility ranging from 2Km to 5Km during the predicted period.

The forecast also indicates that the coastal area may experience fog or mist in the early morning hours.

The coastal belt was expected to have moderate dust haze with a visibility range of 2Km to 5Km in the afternoon and evening.

During Friday’s forecast period, the northern area and North Central states might anticipate a small dust haze.

Coastal areas and inland states could expect moderate dust haze with a visibility range of 2–5 km over the forecast timeframe.

“The northern region is expected to have sunny skies and a hazy atmosphere throughout the forecast period,” it added for Saturday.

According to the agenda, people should take the required precautions because dust particles are in suspension.

The current weather scenario warrants caution for those with asthma and other respiratory disorders, according to NiMet.

In order to effectively plan their operations, aircraft operators are recommended to stay informed with weather forecasts from NiMet.
