President Muhammadu Buhari has warmly congratulated former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who turned 71 on Tuesday.
Buhari praised Oshiomhole’s courage in advocating reforms and standing up for the people’s welfare.
He congratulated the former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his dedication to development and democracy, having championed the cause of workers for eight years as President of the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) prior to entering politics.
This was revealed in a statement by Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina.
Buhari believes Oshiomhole will live to be 71.
“Nigeria owes the former NLC president a debt of gratitude” for “constantly drawing attention to the plight of women in Nigeria.”
Workers are fighting to ensure that policies reflect the realities of those at the bottom of the economic and political ladder.
President Buhari sends his best wishes to Oshiomole and his family.
