Mason Greenwood is scheduled to be loaned out to Atalanta by Manchester United.
Greenwood was named to a list of United players who will return for the upcoming season.
However, the striker is not among those returning to Carrington for pre-season training this week.
Greenwood is currently the subject of an internal club inquiry following the Crown Prosecution Service’s dismissal of attempted rape and assault allegations against him in February.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United’s Director of Football, John Murtough, has “held extensive talks with Atalanta officials,” as well as exploring “a possible deal to sign striker Rasmus Hojlund.”
The Red Devils want to loan Greenwood out for the rest of the season.
