The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has proclaimed that classes have started, while the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced that its eight-month-old strike has been suspended.
This was stated in a circular titled “Approved Revised Academic Calendar for 2020/2021 Session and 2021/2022 Session Full Time,” which CAMPUS GIST received exclusively on Friday.
According to a circular seen by CAMPUS GIST, all year one “B” students for the 2021–2022 academic session were urged to return on October 16th, with the start of the first semester’s exams scheduled for October 24–29, 2022.
But it won’t happen until after a brief modification that will stretch from October 17 to October 21, 2022.
The Senate will convene on November 30 to discuss the semester’s results.
All returning students must arrive on October 30, 2022 for the second semester of the 2020–2021 academic year, and classes will begin on October 31 and run through December 22, 2022. (eight weeks).
The school will be closed from December 23 through January 2, 2023, only to resume on January 3 for one week of final preparation before the start of the semester exams.
