Manchester United and Inter Milan have agreed to a £47.2 million deal. Onana’s sake

Manchester United have negotiated a fee of £47.2 million (55 million euros) for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Old Trafford club will pay £43.8 million upfront for the Cameroon international, with an extra £3.4 million in add-ons.

United hope he will be able to join them on their next tour of the United States, but he will need to obtain a visa.

Erik ten Hag, the manager, signed the keeper at the end of the season after previously working with him at Ajax.

He believes Onana may be a valuable addition to the United side, and his pursuit of a new goalkeeper forced David de Gea to decline a new contract offer.
