Raphael Varane, a Manchester United defender, believes the Red Devils can catch Manchester City next season.
Varane feels Erik ten Hag’s club demonstrated last season that they are capable of defeating any team in the globe.
Last season, Manchester United finished third, behind Arsenal and champions Manchester City.
Varane, on the other hand, feels Manchester United can compete with Pep Guardiola’s team this season.
“We have to believe,” Varane said to ESPN when asked if Manchester United could catch City next season.
“The difference between a good team and a top team is sometimes something mental.” Everything is possible with a new season. [Catching Man City] will be a difficult task, but we are prepared for it.
“Winning the Premier League is extremely difficult. It will be challenging, but we are prepared to compete in every game. I believe we shown last season that we are capable of defeating any team in the world.”
