Messi’s late free-kick in injury time helped Inter Miami upset Cruz Azul 2-1 in a Leagues Cup match.
During the game, the former Barcelona captain came on as a 54th-minute substitute.
Messi’s performance for Inter Miami enraged American football fans.
Messi posted on Instagram after the game:

His Instagram post has nearly 12 million likes, and other celebrities, including fellow players, have replied.
Enrique, who played for Liverpool and Newcastle United in the Premier League, commented on Messi’s post with a GOAT emoji.
