On Saturday, mourners paid their respects to the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, who founded the Fountain of Life Church (FOLC) in Lagos.
Bishop David Abioye of the Living Faith Church in Lagos spoke about the late pastor, describing him as a man of strong character who ran the race of life well.
Mrs. Yewande Jacob, a churchgoer who spoke at the ceremony, explained that everyone there knew that their pastor had died and gone to heaven, therefore they were celebrating in his honor.
Jacob spoke highly of the late preacher as a guide who helped young people how to communicate with people of the opposite sex in a way that did not compromise their Christian beliefs.
She mentioned that the pastor’s generosity extended beyond the church’s walls and helped many needy families and students.
At the same ceremony, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya reflected on his father as an inspiration, saying that he had lived his life to the fullest and attained eternal glory in the process.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the pastor’s burial took place at a private cemetery in Lagos.
Odukoya passed away on August 7 at the age of 67 in the United States of America.
