In the 2023 elections, Soyinka said Peter Obi, “You didn’t even come second.”

Prof. Wole Soyinka, a renowned author, has stated unequivocally that Peter Obi, a member of the Labour Party, LP, did not win the 2023 presidential election, despite Obi’s claims to the contrary.

Soyinka claims that Obi didn’t even come in second place in the poll.

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) upheld President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election on Wednesday, but his opponents have pledged to go to the Supreme Court.

Tinubu’s victory was contested by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party candidate Peter Obi.

Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has claimed victory in the elections, but according to Soyinka, Obi did not even come in second.

Two things happened in the most recent election. The Labour movement is one of my favorite movements, and it has been taken over by one party,” he stated in a now-viral interview on X.

It was a wonderful link between the two entrenched factions until it became a provincial party. Peter Obi did something so extraordinary that he shattered convention. Yes.

But despite his best efforts, he lost the election. I worked for a watchdog group. Definitely, Peter Obi’s party didn’t even come in second, let alone first, and its leaders knew it.

But they want to use what we term ‘gbajue’ in Yoruba, which means ‘power of lies.’

Some of the extremists, mobs, and young people will be mobilized for a demonstration.

“I’m always ready to be a part of such demonstrations, but only under the banner of truth.”
