Both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are tied for the record for most Ballon d’Or awards among active players. Seven times for the Argentine, and only five for Ronaldo.
Messi is currently ahead of Ronaldo. Compared to Cristiano Ronaldo’s 40, Lionel Messi has won 41 @GWR crowns.
With 41 records, Messi is in first place, followed by Ronaldo with 40. The top five also includes Robert Lewandowski (9), Kylian Mbappe (5), and Neymar (4).
