As many as five men have been burnt to death in Anambra, in what will come as a shocking development.

The men were allegedly burned to death today in Onitsha, Anambra State, after attempting to dispose of a tricycle operator’s tricycle.

According to a source in Onitsha who told DAILY POST the men tried to steal a tricycle from the owner in broad daylight before being apprehended.

According to the source, the incident occurred on the old Nkpor road, near the People’s Club headquarters in the commercial city of Onitsha.

“The mob that gathered after the men”

were apprehended, despite some people’s advice to call the cops.

“They started by stripping the men naked and beating them up, and then some people brought old tyres and fuel and set them on fire.”

“It was a terrible sight today, and everyone stood by and watched as the men burned to death,” he said.

The incident was not confirmed by the Anambra State Police Command. As of the time of filing this report, a text message sent to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, had not been responded to.

The state police commissioner, CP Echeng Echeng, has previously warned Anambra State residents against using jungle justice.

Echeng had always maintained that reporting suspects to the police would be beneficial.
