In Adamawa, a man murders his wife.

Aminu Abubakar, a man from Adamawa State, has been arrested by police for allegedly beating his wife to death.

Abubakar allegedly delivered the fatal blows to his wife, Nana Fadimatu, after learning that she had decided to leave him and marry a man from a neighboring community.

Adamawa Police command officers who apprehended the man, a resident of Lelewaji community in Shagari Phase 2 Estate, Yola South Local Government Area, charged him with descending on the wife after learning that she was marrying another man the next day.

According to a statement issued by the Yola Police Headquarters on Sunday, Abubakar, 56, was arrested for beating.

“Over information,” says Fadimatu, 38, “she is going to marry another man.”

The statement, signed by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Suleiman Nguroje, stated that the suspect “furiously engaged” the deceased around 10 p.m. on Friday, May 5.

According to the statement, Abubakar used force on Nana Fadimatu by hitting her with a hard object, causing her to become unconscious and later pronounced dead.

According to the statement, the suspect was apprehended by the Shagari Divisional Headquarters Police following a tip from Fadimatu’s intended new husband, Mahmud Rufai of Shagari Annex, Yola South.
