I’m not interested in becoming Chief of Staff, so I’m taking a break to work in the private sector — El-Rufai

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has denied rumors that he wants to be Chief of Staff in President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet.

El-Rufai was in Gombe State, according to reports, to inaugurate the construction of 550 housing units and the Gombe Geographic Information Systems (GOGIS) Service Centre.

On Saturday, he told reporters in the state that the reports on the various portfolios assigned to him and published in national dailies were “mere speculations.”

Elrufai stated that he was more interested in contributing to Nigeria’s development than in jockeying for positions.

He went on to say that serving in government was not the only way to help Nigeria develop.

Even if he was not in government, he would remain dedicated to the country’s advancement.

“I haven’t discussed it with the president-elect, and I don’t like to speculate.”

“I read in the newspapers about various portfolios that have been assigned to me, but you know, I am a dedicated Nigerian.”

“I want to see my country progress, and whatever I can do to help the country’s development, I will do.”

“But I don’t have to do it because I work for the government.” Everyone who works in the private sector or in civil society contributes.

“There is not just one way to contribute to the country, and I will never stop working for Nigeria’s progress,” he said.

The governor is in charge.

said he would take a break after leaving office in the next 22 days but would be available to provide advice on how to move the country forward if needed.

“I will not be a chief of staff in the private sector.” “I’m going to take a break and give advice to people like Governor Inuwa Yahaya if they need it,” he said.

On Tinubu’s presidency beginning on May 29, El-Rufai stated that Nigerians would not be sorry for voting for the president-elect, emphasizing that better days were ahead for Nigerians under Tinubu.
