Former Education Minister Obiageli Ezekwesili has accused Ghanaians of claiming Nigeria’s best in many exploits.
Ezekwesili said in a tweet on Monday that she had noticed it with Tiwa Savage and, more recently, Hilda Bassey.
Tiwa Savage performed at King Charles III’s historical coronation ceremony.
She was the first Nigerian musician to be invited to perform at a foreign royal coronation ceremony.
Some Ghanaians, however, claimed on the internet that she was from Ghana.
Ezekwesili noted that some Ghanaians have begun to claim Bassey’s feat of breaking the Guinness World Record for longest cooking hours.
She stated,
“It was not the case.
enough that Ghanaians dared to compete with us for the Best in Jollof Rice trophy. They seem to have developed a habit of claiming our Bests in other exploits. I’ve seen it with Tiwa Savage and now Hilda Bassey.
It’s absolutely hilarious. But how did this all begin? It’s hilarious!”
