How a Medical Condition Affected My Marriage – Zainab Balogun

Zainab Balogun, a Nollywood actress, has spoken out about her fight with endometriosis and how it impacted her marriage.
Endometriosis is a medical condition that develops when cells from the womb’s lining (uterus) grow in other parts of the body, causing pain, heavy bleeding, bleeding between periods, and infertility.
She mentioned she had the illness for almost 20 years.
The actor said this in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
Her spouse, Dikko Nwachukwu, she added, was there for her during her battle with the medical issue.
Balogun responded, “Of course (my husband was supportive).” When dealing with something as large as this, you have to adopt a village mindset. You realized you’d need a therapist, a backrubber, and someone to make you laugh. So doing something like this alone (without the support of my husband) would be difficult. Not just for the physical aspects, but also for the mental and emotional components.”
“I did not (share my wedding photos),” she stated when asked why she didn’t share photos from her wedding in 2018. I’m not sure who did that. My make-up artist was the only person who had permission to share one image, which was similar to a beauty image.
“I was perfectly fine with no one seeing an image from my wedding.” I mean, my personal life is quite private. It’s not available for public consumption because it’s not my work; it’s my life.”
