Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has issued a directive for law enforcement to investigate the alleged murder of a media figure in the state.
Yusuf Mubaarak, a 27-year-old native of Ilorin, went missing on Wednesday night, and his body was discovered in the vicinity of the Unity Road axis in the Ilorin metropolitan area on Saturday.
On Saturday night, his funeral took place, and many of his friends, colleagues, and acquaintances shed tears.
The death of the 27-year-old under suspicious circumstances was regarded as startling and saddening by Governor AbdulRazaq.
He swore that authorities will look into the traumatic event.
The Governor’s sympathies were conveyed to Mubaarak’s family, friends, and all the young constituencies in the State in a statement released Saturday night in Ilorin by his spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye.
The Governor, who is a parent, said, “As a father, I strongly condemn the cowardly violence meted out to the lad and urge a quick and comprehensive investigation into the killing of the promising chap, to apprehend and bring his perpetrators to justice.
For the sake of Mubaarak and his loved ones, no effort should be wasted in pursuing justice. We order the security services to use every available resource to uncover the truth about his tragic death.
The Governor asked Allah to grant the young man Mubaarak Al-Jannah Firdaus and to provide solace to his loved ones and all those who mourned his loss.
