Wayne Rooney, a former Manchester United striker, has informed Harry Kane that ‘now is the time’ to quit Tottenham.
Bayern Munich made two proposals for Harry Kane this summer, both of which were rejected by the north London club.
The England captain has one year left on his Tottenham contract and has indicated that he would not sign an extension.
The Red Devils began contact with Tottenham at the beginning of the summer to see if Kane was available.
Spurs did not want to trade their star player, but the club valued him at more than £100 million.
Rooney thinks Kane is ‘perfect’ for United and feels he should leave Tottenham this summer.
“I thought it was time to go last season, and he stayed,” Rooney explained to the Athletic.
“Harry is probably feeling that and is aware that there are trophies available for him to win.” He has done everything he can to attempt to get to Tottenham.
“It’s probably time for him to move on, and he appears to be ready for it, but we all know Tottenham can be difficult at times.”
