FC Lorient has signed ex-Man City player Benjamin Mendy

Benjamin Mendy has signed a contract with FC Lorient of the French Ligue 1 league.
Fabrizio Romano, a market transfer expert, reported the news on Wednesday via his verified Twitter profile.

The agreement comes only days after Mendy was found not guilty of rape and attempted rape by a jury at Chester Crown Court in the United Kingdom.

According to Romano, Mendy has agreed to terms with Lorient until June 2025.

He stated,

“Benjamin Mendy returns to football as a new Ligue 1 player with Lorient, done deal.”

“Mendy signs until June 2025 as new Lorient left back after he was found not guilty by Chester Crown Court.”

Following his rape case, Mendy played his final game for English Premier League club Manchester City in August 2021.

However, after his Manchester City contract expired at the end of June, the French international full-back became a free agent but without a club.
