Fayose, leader of the coup in Gabon: “I am very pleased with the outcome.”

Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, has said he is pleased with the military’s takeover in Gabon.
Fayose stated that a transition to democracy in Gabon was possible after the coup.
You may recall that Ali Bongo, the President of Gabon, was pronounced the winner of Saturday’s elections, but he was overthrown by the country’s military leaders the following Wednesday.
While Fayose does not endorse military participation in politics, he blames the sit-tight syndrome for the recent surge of coups throughout the continent, as he explained in an interview with Channels Television’s Hard Copy on Friday.
When asked about the recent events in Gabon, he remarked, “I am very happy with what happened, I don’t like military incursions in politics.”
Keep in mind that the democratic process is currently on hold in Nigeria. After every four years, it’s clear that people are going to be voting again. Over the course of history, Nigeria has shifted from one political party to another and from one leader to another.
They have to get him out of there some way, shape, or form in a country where one individual is serving 30 years, 20 years, or 40 years in prison. The situation in Nigeria is very different from that,” he remarked.
You’re only allowed to stay for so long, but don’t hold that against Nigeria. There won’t be a coup, but I can’t guarantee there won’t be one.
They will report you if you say anything here. If you hear of a coup and don’t tell anyone, “let me tell you, you deserve to be killed. They will come and carry you in the house,” he warned.
