Burna Boy and Falz are two Nigerian music artists who have made waves both locally and internationally.
While Burna Boy is frequently referred to as the “African Giant,” one could argue that Falz is the true champion of activism and social change in Nigerian music. His latest video with Vector, “Yakubu,” exemplifies this.
The original version of “Yakubu” was a hit song that received a lot of airplay and was well-liked by music fans.
Falz and Vector, on the other hand, take a different approach in the remix, using the song as a platform to express themselves.
address important societal issues.
They discuss corruption, police brutality, and recent election irregularities, urging listeners to be more conscious of their actions and take steps to effect positive change in their communities.
This isn’t the first time Falz has used his music to bring attention to important issues. In both his lyrics and public statements, he has consistently spoken out against social injustices and political corruption in Nigeria.
He has also used his platform to promote and advocate for good governance, as well as to encourage young people to participate in politics and social activism.

This isn’t to say Burna Boy isn’t a significant figure in Nigerian music and activism. In addition, he has used his music and platform to spread important messages and advocate for change.
But he only claims to be the African giant by mentioning a few things he is aware of that the whites have done to rob us, but when it comes to his roots, he is completely wasting that name.
Being an African Giant entails more than just singing; you must also act. Falz has done outstanding singing and acting in line with his values.
Vector, who was hired as the lawyer for the so-called Mr Yakubu, is also a highlight of the song. He assassinated the song and even improved its listenability.
However, one could argue that Falz is the true champion of activism and social change in Nigerian music, not just by name but also by example.
Finally, each individual must decide who they believe is the true African giant of music and activism.
However, before passing judgment, it is important to watch and listen to both artists’ works and appreciate the important contributions they have made to Nigeria as a whole with their personalities and how they positively influence the youths.
