Nasir el-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna, has stated that if offered by President-elect Bola Tinubu’s incoming administration, he will decline the position of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
El-Rufai made the remarks on Tuesday during a policy discussion and book launch in Abuja.
He was the FCT minister during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration and was known for demolishing illegal structures.
The Governor stated that he will never “repeat class,” adding that there are “young people” he can recommend for the position.
“Even if offered, I will not travel to Abuja.” As I previously stated, I never repeat a class, and I know many young people who do.
I can recommend that would do a better job than I did.
“I’m too old for this. I’m too old for demolition, get a young man with blood in his veins or a young woman,”
