DSS reportedly detained CBN deputy governor Obiora

It has been claimed that Kingsley Obiora, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has been detained by the DSS.
The suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has been accused of financial mismanagement, which led to his arrest, as reported by Business Day.
Obiora is the second-in-command at the central bank and oversees monetary and fiscal policy.
His arrest follows an ongoing investigation of CBN led by Godwin Emefiele.
SAREWAHAUSA readers may recall that Emefiele was ousted from office by President Bola Tinubu on June 10, 2023, and that he has been in DSS detention ever since.
The investigation of the conduct of the central bank under Emefiele was given to Jim Obazee, a special investigator appointed by Tinubu in July.
sarewahausa  has not yet heard back from Dr. Peter Afunanya, the DSS spokesperson, or Dr. Isa Abdulmumin, the CBN spokeswoman.
