Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr, has spoken out about his team’s 5-0 pre-season friendly loss against Celta Vigo.
Ronaldo appeared in Al-Nassr’s loss to Celta Vigo on Monday at the Estadio Do Algarve.
The former Manchester United striker and freshly signed Marcelo Brozovic both played in the first half, which ended goalless.
They were both replaced early in the second half, when Gael Alonso scored in the 57th minute.
Celta Vigo’s lead was doubled after Jorgen Strand Larsen scored a spectacular 13-minute hat-trick.
Rafael Benitez’s team also got a goal from Miguel Rodriguez.
In response, Ronaldo, who narrowly missed giving Al-Nassr the lead in the first half with a close-range header, tweeted a defiant message on his Instagram account:
“First preseason game back!” “The hard work begins here!”
Al-Nassr’s pre-season tour resumes on July 20 when they host Benfica.
