The death of Sulaiman Jika has been confirmed by the Nigeria Police Academy, POLAC, located in Wudil, Kano.
The academy reports that Jika, a native of Adamawa State and a cadet in the Department of Computer Science, passed away due to “a brief and unexpected illness.”
ASP Hussain Suleman, the Academy’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the news in a statement released on Sunday.
He stated that the dead had gone to the Academy Clinic on August 29th, 2023 for treatment.
After a thorough course of treatment and a steady improvement, the cadet was released the next day, and he returned for checkups as scheduled under the orders of the on-call physician.
But then life took a strange and unexpected turn. After a complaint of restlessness on September 2, 2023, ASP Hussain Suleiman had him readmitted to the clinic for further evaluation and care.
He continued, “Though his vitals were normal upon examination and all necessary medical steps were taken, we regrettably report his untimely passing.”
In the statement, AIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar, Commandant of the Police Academy, expresses his “deepest condolences” to Cadet Sulaiman Jika’s family, friends, and loved ones who have lost someone they care about.
During this time of great loss, please know that your friends and family are in your hearts and prayers. The commandant prayed that God Almighty would give them the fortitude to face such a great loss.
